  • sometimes i think that fiction is truer than reality

yeah i've been reading comics for a while and it struck me how courageous and loyal the main characters were- how much they'd fight in order to protect each other and for the good of the world and as i read i kept thinking to myself, "ah..this is the way that things should be."

i think that behind every action is a good intention. for example, a man who steals food, though that action of theft is bad, the intention to fill one's stomach, is a good thing. in fact, it's what every person aims for in the eating realm- to have a full stomach. or a man who kills others or maims others for fun or is hungry for power, though it's bad, the man who does it is aiming for a feel good feeling inside, which is a good goal (though the method of doing it is bad).

i'd say that whatever we aim for is what we were supposed to be before the fall of man. corruption has distorted our perfection and so, every day, mankind seeks to fill the missing piece.

and this is why i think that sometimes fiction is truer than reality, because in it, things that are supposed to happen, actually do happen.
  • 1. whatever background you have, city you were born in, school you go to, race you were born in, whatever clothes you decide to wear, whatever you choose to do that has a history behind it, that history is your inheritance. hence, whoever hears of it, will automatically apply the same impression from that group to you because you are one of them.

ex: if you are a christian, you not only inherit the good that christians in history have done, but also the past sins.

you can't change what people as a whole believe about a certain group, but you can probably change an individual's impression.

    2. though thoughts and intentions and purposes differ, a strong group can move as one.

    3. what works in one situation will probably not work in another.

    4. battles and difficulties are the fastest way to make one stronger due to experience.

that's just how it is methinks.

  • i hate people who say, "society says _____"

i swear, every time i see some idiot type that up, i have an uncontrollable desire to grab an iron hammer and smash her face in (yes, it's typically a girl).

it's ridiculous how some people just grab the word and says stupid crap like "society says that girls who sleep around are sluts." likewise, in the other spectrum, "society says that if you don't sleep around, you're a an outsider."

    @*@*##@*!&*#!@*&!&!&!&

Have you ever noticed that whenever the phrase, "society says/claims/states/believes/some other variant of it," the next part is pretty much always something that the author vehemently disagrees with?

Society is so damn big with people of every kind of school of thought and beliefs and expectations of how people should be, you can't just pick and choose one area of the spectrum and use it as the mouthpiece of EVERYONE.

  • seeing your friend's screen names online

i recall a long while ago while i was talking to one of my good friends, she mentioned that she saw me online the other night. since we talked a lot, i was rather surprised. i stated that i didnt see her online to which she responded that she was on invisible. i then asked why she didn't IM me- she didn't really respond but when i kept pushing the issue (me: LOL wtf that makes no sense), she managed to awkwardly somehow state that it was comforting to see me online and that was enough.

i guess i never really understood that until now. i think a lot of people here in taiwan (studying abroad peeps) feel rather lonely without hanging out with other international students but whenever i sign online and see my friends on, even without talking to them, just seeing their screen names there makes me feel like at home.
